I’ve been building a self-sustaining homestead on 6 acres of forested land in southern Maryland (USA) – which has a much lower cost of living than the rest of Maryland. One of my goals is to become energy independent – along with food independent. I’m a mechanical engineer by trade and a man of leisure – I don’t intend to sell produce to make money, I just want to build a robust food forest for my family and reduce my environmental impact.
About me
Homestead Energy Storage is right up my alley as a Fuel Containment Engineer, and I also really like food forests. On a homestead energy comes in many forms – including solar storage in batteries, gas from biodigesters, wood, food, and caffeine :)
